Jon Edwards, Principal and Head of Talent at Gramish Global, brings nearly three decades of experience leading, building, and strengthening talent acquisition functions across retained executive search, higher education, industrial manufacturing, and multi‑OpCo corporate environments.
Jon began his career in retained executive search, supporting mid‑ to senior‑level leadership hiring for Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, government agencies, and academic institutions. This foundation shaped his disciplined, leadership‑focused approach to talent and remains central to his work today.
Jon transitioned in‑house at Northeast Ohio Medical University, where he built the institution’s first talent acquisition (TA) function—introducing structure, diversity practices, and faculty recruiting processes during a period of organizational change.
He later joined The Timken Company and was selected to stand up the TA function for TimkenSteel Corporation during its separation into a new public company. Jon led TA through the complexities of a corporate split, HRIS conversion, and the creation of new recruiting workflows and operating rhythms.
Jon then served as the TA lead for Matco Tools and Hennessy Industries within Danaher, Fortive, and Vontier—multi‑OpCo organizations known for their disciplined operating systems. Trained in Lean and continuous improvement methodologies, Jon applied tools such as Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, and Transactional Process Improvement to strengthen hiring processes, reduce variation, and improve recruiting flow across multiple operating companies.
Across roles, Jon has built and stabilized TA functions, supported leadership hiring from Director through President, and partnered with senior leaders to align talent strategy with business priorities. His work blends executive search rigor, operational discipline, and practical insight—helping organizations navigate growth, transformation, and periods of constrained capacity with clarity and confidence.
